It’s been so rainy and overcast in Phoenix this winter. I love it. We don’t really ever get winter weather, so it’s been nice to be able to wear warm and cozy layers.
I layered this fur vest(one of my closet staples)over a swing style knit tee I found from Forever 21. I always check them out for layering tees because they have so many colors, styles and they are usually under $20. Can’t beat that! I just refuse to spend tons of money on tees because I usually have to replace them each year. At F21 prices, I can go nuts and still feel reasonable. The faux suede leggings are Hue brand usually found at Dillard’s, they are really stretchy and comfortable. (On sale too). I also really like the Hue brand tights. Not too tight around the middle giving that unsightly muffin top or sausage effect. My boots are about 5 years old from Ralph Lauren and were a gift. They have really stood up to some harsh weather in Chicago while on vacation and just daily wear here in Phoenix. I will take all my boots to my shoe guy at the end of February to have them conditioned and get the sole replaced on the black boots. They need it!
Now, my favorite part of getting dressed, accessorizing. Picking out all the jewelry and a handbag is the creative part for me. Clothes are easy but having just the right necklace, bag, shoes or ring takes some trying on. I usually start with one thing, then switch to another and add this or that before I take it all of and start over because I changed my mind! I love my collection of special jewelry and handbags that I have collected over the years! I try to get something on vacation like a bangle or a ring so when I go to wear it, it reminds me of that fun time. I also am willing to spend more money on accessories. I keep them way longer, if not forever and they make my $20 F21 look awesome. No one would ever guess that it was inexpensive. They are probably too busy looking at the pretty bag. Works for me!
I got this fuchsia Chanel bag last Christmas and the pink Hermes bangle in Chicago as “my souvenir”. Ha! The Timex watch was also a gift last Christmas and came from Nordstrom Rack. I only know because I saw it there about a week later. It’s really timeless and goes with everything. The band can be replaced easily also.
